CZECH PHILHARMONIC BRASSES
CZECH PHILHARMONIC started performing in 1896 under the batton of the famous Czech composer Antonin Dvorak ans has
become well known for the beauty of the sound of its brass instruments. In 1993 outstanding brass musicians, members of
Czech Philharmonic, founded a chamber brass ensemble called CZECH PHILHARMONIC BRASSES. The group gave soon
special concerts in the series of the Czech Philharmonic. They have been gaining prestige offering a wide range of composers
beginning with European Renaissance (Gabrielli, Monteverdi, Venosa, de Pres, Palestrina) and including Czech and European
Barock (Bach, Handel, Vejvanovsky, Tollar, Schein, Scheidt, Pachelbel, Purcel) and moder arrangements of romantic compositions
(Dvorak, Tchaikowsky) and of popular pieces from 20th century (Gerschwin, Joplin, Bernstein).
Several contemprary Czech composers (Dvoracek, Parsch, Pauer, Loudova, Vackar) have dedicated its works to this ensemble.
With the fall of iron curtain the ensemble starting making tours abroad. Since then they have already performed in Japan, Italy, Germany,
Switzerland and Austria.
